Having a child is a huge commitment. Choosing life isn’t easy, choosing to give birth to a child is very difficult. Under the best circumstances, in which a woman who has chosen and consciously planned to have a child, has the support of her spouse and family, and has enough financial means to take care of the child, giving birth and the process that leads up to it is very hard. As a young single male, I probably still don’t appreciate enough the difficulty of this process. But I can imagine how scared I would be if I knew that in nine months

The death penalty is the most final and complete punishment a government can sentence a person to. Nothing on earth is so final and so irreversible as death. Therefore, one must exercise the utmost care in regard to this issue: is it morally permissible to intentionally kill another person as punishment for a crime they have committed? The Declaration of Independence of the United States of America states, “that all Men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness.” If the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness are endowed by our Creator, and unalienable, how could the right to life be taken away in the form of execution?
