Apple’s WWDC (Worldwide Developers Conference) kicks off today at 10am Pacific (12am Central), at the San Francisco Moscone Center. Apple has in the past provided live keynote coverage via quicktime, however, in lieu of this, you can view live updates of the keynote at MacRumorsLive.com, or one of several other websites. Apple is expected to release a new version of the iPhone that supports a faster 3G network. Less certain rumors include a tablet Mac that is larger than an iPhone and smaller than a laptop.

Several Apple rumor sites claim that starting tomorrow, June 3rd, Apple will be offering college students a free iPod touch or iPod nano with the purchase of a Mac (excluding the Mac mini). In the past, Apple has offered students a free iPod and printer (after rebates) with the purchase of a Mac as part of their annual “Back to School” sale. However, offering an 8Gb iPod touch (currently retailing at $299) as part of this sale would be one of the most generous offers yet.
